Media Buyer is responsible for maximizing the impact of advertising campaigns. Coordinates the development and execution of media and advertising plans that support the client's overall marketing strategy, tactics, message, and objectives. Being a Media Buyer uses analytics to design innovative strategies to ensure the client's marketing campaigns reach the target audience. Negotiates media buys, pricing, and media placement scheduling with vendors. Additionally, Media Buyer collaborates with stakeholders and vendors to execute plans and control pacing, optimization, and timelines for campaigns. Conducts research on new media strategies, platforms, and channels to utilize for future campaigns or ongoing campaign evolvement. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager. The Media Buyer work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, sourcing potential suppliers, constant verbal and written communication with customers/vendors; reviewing contract requirements; preparing/sending RFQs & POs to suppliers; preparing and performing sales quotations through electronic interfaces; meeting contractual deadlines; resolution of discrepancies; and overall evaluation of suppliers. Candidate must be self-motivated, outgoing, organized and possess strong problem solving and analytical skills. Must have at least 1 year experience in purchasing within the marine industry. Also, must have advanced knowledge of MS Office applications (i.e. MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel). Some travel may be required.
