Date Position Available: 2023-2024 School Year

Qualifications: Appropriate State of Maine Certification (071) Library/Media Specialist and current CHRC authorization through the State of Maine Department of Education.

Description: MSAD #11 is currently seeking a team oriented, energetic, and creative educator to join the Gardiner Area High School teaching staff as a Librarian. The GAHS Library Commons is a welcoming, inclusive, and dynamic space for students and staff. The librarian ensures that students and staff have an enriched library environment containing a wide variety and range of materials that will invite intellectual growth and aid all students in acquiring the skills needed to take full advantage of the library resources. The school's librarian will work closely with faculty as a collaborative partner to co-plan and co-teach, in some cases, across content areas. Through the partnership, the librarian will support staff by curating resources from databases, museums, and the Library of Congress to strengthen learning and support students' skill development.

Additional Information: The successful candidate has the ability to Assist students and staff in selecting appropriate resources and access and evaluate intellectual content; Maintains awareness of evolving technology to anticipate the needs of the educational community; and maintains an efficient system of classifying, cataloging, and circulating all library materials to ensure equity of access.
