We are currently hiring for a Medical Records Clerk.
As Medical Records Clerk, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records. Your attention to detail, knowledge of medical terminology, and ability to work effectively in a healthcare setting will contribute to the overall quality of patient care. Core Duties:
Compiles and maintains medical records on all residents, including active charts and discharge records.
· Closes discharge records per facility policy.
· Maintains prescribed medical record logs, indexes and files.
· Thin Medical Records in accordance with facility policies and regulations.
· Assist with new admission forms as needed.
· Initiate and track all Medicare certifications and re-certifications.
· Collect and maintain nursing 24 hour reports.
· Collect daily census reports and send to accounting department.
· Initiate and place new resident name plate for resident room identification.
· Assist with documentation of vital signs, weights, etc. as needed.
· Record and maintain all death notices and fax notice to Vital Record Department.
· Keep physicians’orders in compliance by going the physician’s office for signed orders weekly and as needed.
· Maintain Medicare billing logs for Laboratory Services.
· Maintain Medicare billing logs for X-ray Services.
· Respect Residents’ right to privacy and other residents’ rights.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
