Performs various secretarial and clerical duties, such as typing reports and correspondence, transcribing written notes, maintaining records and files, answering phones, and arranging clinician schedules. Being a Medical Secretary may be responsible for entering clinician charges into medical billing system. Requires knowledge of medical terms and vocabulary. Additionally, Medical Secretary requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Medical Secretary works under moderate supervision. NO Experience Needed:
Prior eyecare or healthcare experience can be helpful but certainly not required. We offer paid training to the right person with a great attitude, a helpful heart, and a love of learning! We will make sure you’re totally confident working with the equipment and patients before you start handling these tasks alone!
Some of your duties will include:
- Spending 20 minutes with each patient before the doctor comes in, performing duties such as measuring retinal function, peripheral vision, retinal thickness,taking retinal photographs and; determining a patient's glasses and contact lens prescription. - Performing tests based on the doctor’s diagnoses.
