Meeting/Event Director directs the overall planning and strategy for live or virtual meetings and events for an organization. Defines the goals, success metrics, and messaging for events. Being a Meeting/Event Director implements best practices and develops planning standards, policies. and procedures. Additionally, Meeting/Event Director develops a network of vendors. Approves the final selection of venues, catering, technology, and other event support services. Reviews and approves contracts and has overall responsibility for ensuring events stay within budget. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Meeting/Event Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Meeting/Event Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     To provide oversight and supervision to the organization's Accounting Department. The Director of Accounting is responsible for and will be held accountable to produce financial reports, maintain an adequate system of accounting records, create and manage a full comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate company risk, and enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results. The Director of Accounting will be responsible for the coordination of work directed within the department to ensure all work is performed in accordance with the organizations Strategic Objectives.

    Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities Of Director Of Accounting

    • Plan, direct, and coordinate all accounting operational
    • Support the organizations financial objectives by providing financial analysis and recommendations and directing staff accordingly.
    • Publish monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with Executive mandates.
    • Develop accounting organizational strategies by contributing accounting and financial information, analysis, and recommendations for strategic thinking and direction, and establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives.
    • Establish accounting operational strategies by evaluating trends, establishing critical measurements, determining production, productivity, quality, and service strategies, designing systems, accumulating resources, resolving problems, and implementing change.
    • Provide financial projections by coordinating budget/forecast preparation, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial information, and advising departments on the collection and analysis of data.
    • Manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results.
    • Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial statements and provide management with the information vital to the decision-making process.
    • Prepare and publish annual budgets.
    • In direct collaboration with Business Unit Leaders and the Executive Team, define and prepare Business Unit Financial Key Performance Indicators.
    • Define, publish, manage, and direct departmental quarterly and annual key initiatives.
    • Hire, train and retain skilled accounting staff.

    Secondary Functions

    • Evaluate and assess current operations and offer recommendations for improvement, savings opportunities and implement new process.
    • Coordinate activities with external auditors and accountants, as necessary.
    • Assist in hiring sub-tier employees by conducting interviews of candidates.

    Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

    • Ability to accurately calculate and interpret financial data.
    • Provide direction to resolve problems to all business unit team members.
    • Ability to identify and adapt to the needs of the organization and team members.
    • Strong prioritization skills and ability to delegate tasks to team members.
    • Communicate using the following tools: telephone, fax machine, written logs, email, and computer.
    • Having a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) QuickBooks, and other accounting related software.
    • Strong working ability to read and interpret financial statements.

    Other Qualifications

    • Must have a valid driver's license.
    • Must have a bachelor's degree in Accounting.
    • Six plus years of relevant accounting experience.
