    Primary Function of Position

    The Health Services Supervisor is responsible for managing, developing, and coordinating the Health Services and Preferred Communities programs. This multifaceted role involves supervising a team and a focus on enhancing self-sufficiency for clients we serve in collaboration with other Refugee Resettlement staff. Additionally, the supervisor actively seeks funding opportunities, both existing and additional, in coordination with the Program Manager. Their work extends beyond internal coordination, as they engage with government agencies, community service providers, and partner organizations. Ensuring accurate record-keeping and timely reporting for all Health Services is a critical aspect of their responsibilities.


    Major Position Responsibilities

    • Coordinate Health Services: Oversee health services for refugees from arrival throughout their service period.
    • Program Development and Supervision: Collaborate with the Program Manager to develop the Health Services Program, train staff, and delegate responsibilities.
    • Health Team Oversight: Ensure deadlines and benchmarks within the health team are being met.
    • Public Transportation Orientation: Coordinate healthcare-specific public transportation orientation if needed.
    • Preferred Communities Grant Management: Oversee the Preferred Communities grant and support groups.
    • Billing and Meetings: Manage monthly billings, facilitate health team meetings, and conduct one-on-one staff meetings.
    • Grant Coordination: Handle grants related to health and interpreting services.
    • Reports and Compliance: Manage health services documents, compliance deadlines, and case file audits.
    • Reportable Conditions: Coordinate directly with the Department of Health on medical reportable conditions.
    • Logic Model and Policies: Develop, revise, and regularly review a logic model, policies, and procedures for the Health Services Team and each team position.
    • Meeting Attendance: Attend all scheduled staff meetings.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Work Environment

    • This position is in a professional office environment using standard equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
    Some local travel may be required.

    Physical Demands

    • This is primarily a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require lifting files, opening filing cabinets, and bending or standing as necessary.
    • This role includes driving locally to mentor match meetings, field trips, and local schools.

    • Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality regarding client information.
    • Communication Skills: Possess outstanding oral and written communication skills.
    • Computer Proficiency: Be proficient in using computer tools for documentation, scheduling, and email in Outlook.

    Education, Training, and Experience

    • Masters in Public Administration or Public Health from an accredited university or equivalent experience.
    • Experience in program management and development, including grant management, preferred.
    • Supervisory experience and demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team.

    Background Screening Requirements

    • Must pass a national BCI/FBI background check.

    Licenses, certifications, and credentials

    • Current Utah driver's license, proof of auto insurance with minimum policy liability limits of $50,000 per person and $100,000 per incident, 21 years of age or older, a clean driving record, and ability to meet CCS vehicle safety requirements.

    Position status and expected schedule.

    • Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, sometimes after 5:00 as needed.
