BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
This is highly technical and analytical work in the field of Information Technology requiring great attention to detail. Essential responsibilities include the coordination of desktop management applications (user policies, patch distribution, & virus protection), advanced server support, network support, data backups, and workflow development. Additional responsibilities include assisting other technical staff members, wired and wireless LAN/WAN administration, workstation consistency across multiple domains, and city wide projects. Other duties include receiving and tracking incoming orders by verifying that paperwork is accurate and complete. Work is reviewed by the Information Technology Administrator for the achievement of desired results.

1 S Regular and reliable attendance in compliance with given schedules is a mandatory requirement of this position. Schedules may be subject to change with or without advance notice.
2 S Performs research on hardware and software in the City’s environment to make recommendations for replacements and upgrades.
3 S Provides technical support for all City operations which includes desktops, printers, servers, wired and wireless network equipment, including some off hour/on-call support.
4 S Troubleshoot both hardware and software components on the network to determine the cause of problems, prepares LAN hardware and software specifications.
