Gathers necessary credit, income, and tax information to conduct financial assessments. Being a Mortgage Credit Analyst reviews and verifies property appraisals, collateral value, and key indicators such as debt-to-income and loan-to-value ratios. Prepares a detailed credit analysis and summary using underwriting guidelines, risk assessment frameworks, and following applicable regulatory compliance. Additionally, Mortgage Credit Analyst may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Mortgage Credit Analyst work is closely managed.     Job Description

    MDOC is proud to employ nearly 1,500 veterans and actively serving military members across the department. The Department has many benefits and services available to support our military and veteran employees, spouses, and families.

    This position is located at Baraga Correctional Facility.

    This position serves as the Deputy Warden for Operations at the designated Correctional Facility and acts as the Warden's surrogate in his/her absence when assigned. Develops and oversees budgets for assigned areas of control; revises and enforces procedures for security and effective emergency/disaster response preparedness; assures required rounds and inspections of buildings, grounds, security equipment, sanitation, fire/safety systems are completed; responds to prisoner grievances and litigation; assures appropriate security classification and program classification placement of prisoners; assures that standards for the humane treatment of prisoners as set forth in applicable administrative rules, policy and procedure are satisfied; maintains effective labor/management relationships in accordance with bargaining unit contracts and agreements, assures that fair and consistent employee performance and disciplinary investigation measures are enacted to appropriately enforce employee work rules. Works closely with Health Services and Mental Health services to ensure the physical and mental well-being of prisoners. Maintains effective relationships with other facility departments, other correctional facilities, MDOC administration, outside agencies and the public. Serves as on-call administrator as assigned

    Required Education and Experience

    Education
    Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.

    Four years of professional experience in the Department of Corrections, including two years equivalent to the P11 level or one year equivalent to the 12 level; or, four years as an Assistant Resident Unit Supervisor 11; or, two years as a Corrections Shift Supervisor 13 or Corrections Security Inspector 13

    Alternate Education and Experience

    Education level typically acquired through completion of high school and three years of experience equivalent to a Corrections Shift Supervisor 13 or Corrections Security Inspector 13 may be substituted for the education and experience requirements.

    Vacation and Sick Leave: Eligible full-time employees receive between 15 and 35 personal days and 13 sick days per year that may be rolled over to the following year if not used. Eligible employees also receive an additional day each year for community service or school functions.

    Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leave immediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.

    Paid Holidays: Eligible employees receive 13 or 14 paid holidays each year including New Year’s Eve and Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Election Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving Friday, Christmas Eve and Day.

    Bonus Programs: Eligible employees with five years of service also receive annual longevity bonuses that grow as seniority increases. Some positions also may qualify for recruitment, retention, and performance bonuses or other special pay premiums.

    Military Pay Differential: Employees in the guard or reserves may also qualify for supplemental pay benefits if miliary pay during qualifying duty is less than normal state pay.
