Credit Manager/Accounts Receivable

  • Gross Electric, a family owned business, is looking for an Accounts Receivable/Credit Manager. This position is responsible for collecting receivables, maintaining positive cash flow, and minimizing bad debt. Also responsible for efficient management of the accounts receivable process and the company’s credit policies. This includes overseeing billing, collections, credit evaluations, and establishing credit limits within a B2B (business-to-business) environment. The individual in this role plays a crucial part in maintaining positive cash flow and minimizing bad debt.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Evaluate the creditworthiness of new and existing customers.
    • Set credit limits and terms in line with company policies.
    • Review and analyze credit applications and financial statements.
    • Develop and implement effective collection strategies.
    • Communicate with customers to resolve billing issues and facilitate timely payments.
    • Negotiate and establish repayment plans when necessary.
    • Monitor customer accounts for overdue payments and follow up with customers on outstanding balances.
    • Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable aging, collections, and credit risk.
    • Provide analysis and recommendations to improve cash flow and reduce bad debt.
    • Generate and send accurate and timely invoices to customers.
    • Apply all checks, credit card charges and deposits for accounts on ledgers.
    • Arrange bank deposit by scanning all checks for deposit from company cashboxes and received directly through mail.
    • Process direct credit card payments on accounts.
    • Verify bank statement deposits, ACH receipts and clear A/P checks.
    • Review Invoice preview report for critical customer information and margin expectations and print/process invoices for customers.
    • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline the accounts receivable and credit management functions.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies.
    • Maintain Sales Tax Exempt forms for customers and jobs.

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Work collaboratively with other departments to enhance overall financial processes.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in credit management.
    • Assist in accounting department monthly closing.
    • Complete and submit all business-related paperwork in a timely manner.
    • Maintain a positive attitude promoting teamwork and open communication at all times.
    • Create a culture and team that works together to meet customer needs and a great place to work.
    • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience in finance or accounting with a minimum of 5 years of experience in related field.
    • Proven experience in accounts receivable and credit management with a focus on B2B transactions.
