Network Operations Director manages the daily operations of the organization's network infrastructure, including hardware, software, security, and services, to ensure it meets the organization's performance objectives. Implements policies and procedures that ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, minimize downtime, and support efficient operations. Being a Network Operations Director provides network administrators and technicians with training in the best practices and technologies. Ensures logging and documentation of daily network operations incidents and changes. Additionally, Network Operations Director leads troubleshooting and resolution of routine network issues and conducts root cause analysis (RCA) to prevent recurrences and identify potential technological, training, or process improvements. Automates routine tasks using scripting or basic programs. Advises on budget expenditures to ensure required tools and equipment are procured and maintained. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or it. Typically reports to a director. The Network Operations Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Network Operations Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Hunger Network is the largest grassroots food relief and recovery organization in Cuyahoga County that focuses on minimizing food waste and fighting food inequity and injustice by maximizing our community’s access to culturally relevant, nutritious foods.

    Our programming includes coordination of a consortium of 70 hunger centers that are strategically placed across the county which provide food supplies, hygiene items, and hot meals to our neighbors who need it most. Additionally, we bridge the gap between hunger and food waste through the innovative Food Rescue Hero app, which operates via a direct transfer model to assure fresh food is delivered daily into our local neighborhoods.

    The Operations Coordinator is responsible for managing Food Rescue’s operations on a daily basis. This includes but is not limited to, monitoring dispatch in the Food Rescue web app, problem solving issues in real time, and executing pop-up donations. Food Rescue requires an entrepreneurial spirit, strong technology skills, a passion for sustainability and serving the community, and a keen eye for operations to be most successful. This positions reports directly to the Partnerships Manager.

    Dispatch Operations

    · Oversees dispatch operations Monday through Friday, with 1-2 weekends per month.

    · Coordinates with donors, recipients, and volunteers to troubleshoot any issues with rescues in real time via the Dialpad software.

    · Monitors and utilizes the Food Rescue Hero web and mobile apps and masters all aspects of the technology.

    · Tracks necessary volunteer feedback and data, and reports to the Volunteer Director.

    · Tracks donor and recipient issues, and reports to the Partnerships Manager.

    · Communicates daily dispatch reports to the Food Rescue team and updates any necessary logs.

    · Ensures rescue coverage and program communication are completed for upcoming days of operation.

    Program Operations

    · Maintains accurate and up-to-date Food Rescue Hero web and mobile app information.

    · Executes pop-up donation scheduling with input from the Partnerships Manager

    · Ensures accuracy in online dispatch technology and programmatic documents.

    · Complete food rescues as needed.

    General Responsibilities

    · Engages with the Program Director and Partnerships Manager as part of a collaborative team to ensure that the Food Rescue program continues to grow.

    · Works with the Food Rescue team to analyze performance data to isolate trends, identify opportunities to improve systems and processes, and report on progress toward goals.

    · Attend community meetings to gather and share information, as needed.

    · Assists with major special events, annual campaigns, and other internal meetings, as needed.

    · Assists with and participates in Food Rescue Hero engagement and appreciation events.

    Qualifications and Skills Required:

    · Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience.

    · 2-3 years of customer service experience strongly preferred.

    · Current ServSafe Food Handler Certification preferred, or to receive within 30 days of employment.

    · Excellent technological skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive; experience with database management preferred.

    · Highly adaptable and excited to operate in a fast-paced environment.

    · Excellent oral and written communication skills.

    Qualifications Desired:

    • Ability to drive non-CDL single-axle 26-foot refrigerated box truck.

    Other:

    · Some weekend and evening hours required.

    · Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and automobile insurance required.

    · This position fluctuates from sitting for long periods of time to being active and requiring standing, walking and bending. Individual frequently lifts and moves food and other items over 30 pounds and loads food boxes into and out of vehicles.
