Nutrition Director directs and oversees all aspects of an organization's or institution's nutrition guidelines and initiatives. Oversees institution of basic nutrition plans including individualized menu plans and monitors intake and acceptance of meals, snacks, and supplements. Being a Nutrition Director monitors and ensures proper nutrition education is provided. May oversee menu planning or food service operations. Additionally, Nutrition Director requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) from Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Typically reports to top management. The Nutrition Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Nutrition Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     What you'll be doing:
    • Supervise and lead a team of caring professionals, providing guidance, training, and support.
    • Coordinate Resident Care Programs to ensure compliance with state regulations and Volante Senior Living policies.
    • Conduct pre-admission screenings and assessments, interviewing residents and families with empathy and understanding.
    • Evaluate resident care needs and determine the required level of care, adapting to changes in conditions.
    • Maintain accurate records of resident changes, requests, and irregularities.
    • Update medical charts and care plans to ensure comprehensive and personalized care.
    • Observe residents' health status, taking proactive measures within your scope of practice.
    What you'll bring to the table:
    • Bachelor’s or associate’s degree preferred, with emphasis in business administration, hospitality, gerontology, or a related field.
    • Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse (LVN/LPN) with an unencumbered license to practice nursing within the state of application.
    • 2-3 years of supervisory experience in a similar role.
    • Prior care experience in an assisted living community or skilled nursing facility.
    • Valid First Aid and CPR Certification.
    • Understanding of State Assisted Living Regulations.
    • Reliable transportation, automobile insurance as required by law, and a valid driver’s license.
