GENERAL INFORMATION:
The Desired Results Access Project, under the direction of the California Department of Education Special Education Division, promotes positive outcomes for young children and their families statewide through high quality practices in assessment and instruction that support the inclusion of children with disabilities in schools, home, and community settings. The Project’s work is based on evidence-based and recommended practices in early childhood and special education and is part of the California Department of Education’s funded training and technical assistance projects.
Under the supervision of the Project Director, the Training Manager assures that professional development activities related to the statewide assessment for young children, the Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP), are developed and provided effectively for educators of children with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs). The Training Manager works with Special Education Local Plan Areas (SELPAs), Local Education Areas (LEAs), and institutions of higher education to understand the professional development needs of the field and ensure that special education assessors are supported to use the DRDP with fidelity. The Training Manager represents the Project at various workgroups and meetings related to the DRDP and related topics.
Salary is competitive and commensurate with the successful candidate’s background and experience. This is a full-time, grant- funded position available July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025 with possibility of renewal. Continuation of this position is dependent on job performance and future project funding. This Project has been funded continuously for over 20 years.
