Ophthalmic Technician provides technical services to assigned ophthalmic patients and assists ophthalmologists or optometrists in the examination and treatment of eye disorders. Takes patient history, conducts visual acuity screenings, and performs various technical procedures, including refractometry, tonometry, lensometry, and keratometry. Being an Ophthalmic Technician prepares patients for exams and procedures. Operates, maintains, and sanitizes ophthalmic equipment and instruments. Additionally, Ophthalmic Technician may assist physicians in performing minor surgical and laser procedures. May dispense contact lenses. Typically requires an associate degree. May require Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA). May require Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT). Typically reports to a manager. We are looking for a reliable, experienced maintenance worker to perform essential upkeep tasks throughout our Mobile Home Communities.
In this position, you will be responsible for a wide variety of activities such as repairs and cleaning to ensure that our communities are both tidy and functional. Being reliable and self-motivated with a keen eye for detail is essential in this job, as the ideal candidate will have significant work experience and solid technical knowledge. You should have the manual dexterity and physical stamina necessary for this work.
Maintenance Duties and Responsibilities
· Maintain clean and professional exterior appearance of community-maintain signage, repair or replace fencing, clean roadways, remove weeds, pick up trash, clean gutter and remove debris from vacant lots, fertilize and prune vegetation.
· Perform basic building skills such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, drywall, and some electrical.
· Maintain and repair equipment including mowers, chainsaw, weed eater and blower.
· Must be able to operate a commercial snake.
· Knowledge of water and sewer system a plus.
· Working knowledge of and ability to use and care for standard tools, materials, methods and practices involved in grounds and building maintenance.
· Ability to safely and correctly use hand tools.
· Strong organizational skills.
· Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in a high stress environment.
Maintenance Worker Requirements and Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Proven experience as a maintenance worker or other similar position
· Basic working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
· Experience working with tools, including hand and electrical tools
· Successful completion of on-site apprenticeship training required
· Ability to read and utilize technical manuals and drawings
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· General passion for creative problem-solving
· Ability to be on call and work flexible, irregular and extended hours including holidays, nights and weekends.
· Must have a clean MVR, Valid Driver's License and personal vehicle
· Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background investigation
Rate of pay will be determined on experience
