Organizational Development Director directs the design, planning, and implementation of corporate organizational development programs, policies, and procedures. Approves change management initiatives and suggests enhancements to existing programs. Being an Organizational Development Director oversees the development of programs to build human capital and a strong employee development culture. Reviews key performance metrics to enable accurate and valid measurement of workforce performance and to identify areas for improvement. Additionally, Organizational Development Director proposes changes to organizational structure to leverage talent and provide development opportunities to key leaders in the organization. Develops systematic collection and evaluation of performance metrics. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Organizational Development Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Organizational Development Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Job Summary The Organization Development (OD) Consultant develops partnerships with assigned AEP Business Unit leaders (typically Vice Presidents and above) to determine, develop, and implement high-impact organization and leadership development plans. This is done collaboratively with other HR staff that partner with leaders in the given business unit. Areas of service include leadership development, leader coaching, talent/succession planning, change management, performance management, and team development. The OD Consultant ensures effective planning, execution, implementation, followup, and sustainability of efforts. The OD Consultant also contributes to corporate-wide projects and programs as assigned. Collaborates with others as part of a multidisciplinary Human Resource team to assist in coordinating tasks, services, and the delivery of high-impact client support. Job Description ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1) Develops client partnerships with organizational leadership to develop a solid understanding of goals and challenges, collaborates with leaders and other HR staff in determining appropriate leader and organization development priorities, and consults with Business Unit leaders to match OD solutions to business needs and objectives. 2) Partners with the primary HR contact for the Business Unit in developing strategies and delivering organization development and leadership development support to assigned organizations. 3) Strengthens leadership effectiveness by leading development initiatives, providing direct leadership coaching/consultation, guiding 360-degree feedback interpretation and development planning, facilitating talent reviews and succession/replacement planning activities, and facilitating new leader onboarding and transitions. 4) Strengthens organization effectiveness through a variety of means, including the facilitation of strategic and business planning, building change management strategies, addressing team effectiveness issues, providing organization design support, and improving coordination between departments or across functions. 5) Teams with others in HR in the timely delivery of HR services that directly support the accomplishment of enterprise-wide, corporate, Business Unit, and department objectives. 6) Keeps abreast of the latest organization and leadership development trends, tools, and techniques through networking with external and internal groups, monitoring the business environment, etc. 7) Manages special Organization Development projects/initiatives as assigned. 8) Builds consistency, optimizes resources, and leverages best practices across the enterprise by drawing from and contributing to core Leader and Organization Development resources, processes, frameworks, and tools. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS ORG DEVELOPMENT CONSULTANT: Education requirements are listed below: Bachelor's degree in human resources development, organization development, business administration, related field, OR four years of related experience required. Work Experience requirement listed below: Minimum of five years' experience in OD consulting roles along with business experience required. Master's degree in related field preferred. 2. Demonstrated advanced abilities to collaborate effectively to create customer solutions; a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively across organizational boundaries. Must possess an appreciation for management's strategic business objectives. 3. Ability to quickly gain an understanding of the organization's business goals and the implications for OD work. 4. Demonstrated client partnering skills (both internally and externally). 5. Demonstrated advanced understanding and application of organization development theory and practices. 6. Demonstrated excellence in consultation, facilitation, and influence. 7. Demonstrated ability to listen effectively to translate data/knowledge into appropriate action. 8. Demonstrated leadership ability in a fast-paced, high stress business environment. Must be able to effectively manage and execute tasks with multiple competing priorities. 9. Ability to exercise seasoned judgment in decision making and communications. 10. Results oriented with excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to effectively manage varied resources to complete a job. 11. Demonstrated project management skills and ability to function effectively in a team environment. Includes identifying needs based on business objectives, formulating a plan of action, and effectively executing the plan. 12. Attitude of responsiveness and willingness to go the extra mile to meet the customer's needs. 13. Demonstrated ability to adapt to change and encourage resilience in peers and subordinates. 14. Demonstrated proficiency in the design, implementation, and consultant of the following areas: talent management, leadership development, strategic change models, performance management, and high-performing teams. 15. Competent user of computer technology with emphasis on Microsoft Office desktop tools and electronic communications such as email, calendars, databases, etc. 16. Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with and influence executive management. 17. Excellent team player across boundaries. 18. Demonstrated innovativeness and flexibility when designing and implementing solutions to meet customer needs. 19. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to design and deliver presentations to broad audiences. 20. Travel required. MVR check required. 21. This is a part-time position and willl work approximately 20 hours per week. Compensation Data Compensation Grade: SP20-007 Compensation Range: $83,413.00-104,267.50 USD Candidates will be considered based on their qualifications and the candidate’s ability to work from an approved work location.
