Organizational Development Manager manages all aspects of organizational development. Oversees the development of training programs, facilitation of change management initiatives, and review of current development programs to ensure linkage to company goals. Being an Organizational Development Manager develops programs to build human capital and a strong employee development culture. Facilitates the development and implementation of employee performance measurements to gauge the success of programs and identify areas for improvement. Additionally, Organizational Development Manager assesses leadership development, team development, and organizational communication programs and practices. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Organizational Development Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Organizational Development Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Do Great Things! Durham Technical Community College is hiring a Coordinator in the Organizational Development and Learning. The Coordinator of Organizational Development and Learning, will report to the Director, Organizational Development and Learning. This role will work with the Director, Organizational Learning and Development in the conceptualization and implementation of development and training initiatives for the College.

    Examples of Duties

    • Maintain relationships with faculty, department chairs, and staff educators in order to foster a sense of community around teaching, staff and directors in the various service areas.
    • Assist in planning and coordinating of appropriate learning interventions faculty and staff;
    • Implement programs and initiatives that are aligned with the mission of the college and aimed at achieving the strategic plan;
    • Coordinate the facilitation and hosting of learning events;
    • Design and facilitate learning events and workshops;
    • Supervises webinars and live events offered through the ODL;
    • Recommend best practices for teaching and learning and assist faculty and staff with development and guidance of workshops and presentations;
    • Assist faculty with implementing and assessing instructional methods and technologies to advance quality of instruction;
    • Coordinate communication and marketing of learning offerings;
    • Coordinate and oversee the implementation of activities designed to foster a sense of community within the college;
    • Provide digital learning support and maintain digital learning programs and badging system in collaboration with the ODL director;
    • Evaluates learning materials and media, speakers for events;
    • Organize sessions related to teaching and learning pedagogy and andragogy to support student outcomes;
    • Facilitate ongoing data collection to be used as a basis to measure the effectiveness of programs and activities;
    • Make recommendations for learning programs and initiatives based on new data;
    • Work collaboratively with other members of the ODL department; Talent and Development division, and Instructional Technology department on joint projects and strategic initiatives;
    • Participate in appropriate committees and task forces as assigned;
    • Manage courses on the Learning Management System, (ie. Canvas).
    • Coordinate the scheduling and use of the Center for Learning excellence (CLE) space; and
    • Perform other job-related duties and projects as assigned in support of the College’s mission, core values and goals as assigned by the Director, Organizational Development and Learning;
    • Must complete all mandatory work related and professional development training.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in an academic discipline.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Masters or terminal degree in academic discipline

    Work Experience:

    At least 5 years of recent teaching experience in a community college or university setting

    • Understand the interconnection between all areas of the college and their role in achieving positive student outcomes.
    • Ability to design flexible learning programs (online, blended and face to face formats).
    • Strong understanding of instructional design, instructional methodology and adult learning principles.
    • Experience leading small projects.

    Normal Working Hours:

    A minimum of a 40-hour work week as determined with the supervisor to allow the employee to fulfill the assigned duties and responsibilities, including occasional evening and weekend hours. Summer schedules may vary to enable four-day or four and one half-day work weeks.
