Payment Recovery Specialist is responsible for analysis of denied reimbursement claims. Ensures appropriate insurance coverage for compliance standards and revenue generation. Being a Payment Recovery Specialist monitors, evaluates, and reviews all cost reporting in support of claims. Coordinates with departments and insurance companies to correct errors as necessary. Additionally, Payment Recovery Specialist requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be a Payment Recovery Specialist typically requires 4 to 7 years of related experience. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. The Payment Application Specialist will be responsible for accurately posting all payments received from customers to their accounts in a timely manner.
Position Responsibilities
1. Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering and sorting documents and related information.
2. Pays invoices by verifying transaction information; scheduling and preparing deposits.
3. Obtains revenue by verifying transaction information, computing charges and refunds.
4. Applies payments received from customers through various channels accurately to the account and correct GL accounts.
5. Coordinate with satellite facilities on daily cash reconciliation.
6. Prepares financial reports to ensure balancing of payment batches.
7. Maintains financial historical records by filing accounting documents.
8. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
9. Is responsible for other duties as assigned by management.
