Payroll Clerk prepares and processes payroll and associated information. Collates and verifies data and inputs into the payroll system. Being a Payroll Clerk updates payroll records and processes routine changes to employee records. Performs basic reconciliation and auditing processes during each pay cycle. Additionally, Payroll Clerk responds to pay-related inquiries from staff. Researches and resolves errors or omissions. May prepare and submit reports and forms required by IRS or other regulatory bodies. Follows all processing procedures, adheres to policies, and maintains confidentiality. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Payroll Clerk works under moderate supervision.   • Summary:

    Responsible for processing payroll and A/P. Initiative and assistance with ad hoc payroll issues as they arise.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Completes full cycle payroll processing
    • Responds to employee payroll questions in an efficient manner
    • Prepares payroll journal entries
    • Reviews of the quarterly payroll tax reports
    • Year-end processing W-2 and 1099

    Education/Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field required.
    • 2-4 years experience required.

    Skills:

    • Experience in payroll processing
    • Professionalism and integrity in handling confidential information
    • Demonstrated attention to detail
    • Familiarity with payroll systems

    **Additional notes**

    • Enters pay-related data into computerized templates.
    • May manage Short Term Disability payroll processes (e.g., Advice to Pay reconciliation, retroactive adjustments, etc.)
    • May manage the On/Off Cycle payroll close, overseeing timely production in accordance to processing timelines.
    • Monitors open tickets and follow up with Supervisor on overdue tasks.
    • Participate in payroll support functions; calculate, review, and verify a variety of medium complexity payroll data.
    • May maintains accumulated Paid Time Off (e.g., sick, vacation, etc.)
    • Assist with resolving payroll errors to the general ledger accounts.
    • Participate in the preparation, maintenance of records, and reports related to payroll.
    • Partners with Benefits to ensure proper application, calculation and reporting of payroll benefits (e.g., adjustments, deductions, etc.)
    • Provides customer service (e.g., inbound/outbound calls, tickets).
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Salary: $18.00 - $19.50 per hour

    Expected hours: 40 per week
