Payroll Director directs all aspects of payroll processing operations. Establishes and oversees payroll processes and procedures for routine processing, tax reporting and internal financial requirements. Being a Payroll Director designs short-term and long-term strategies to achieve continuous improvement and efficiencies in payroll processing and delivery operations. Keeps stakeholders informed about the status of payroll laws and regulations and develops implementation plans for required changes to operations. Additionally, Payroll Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Payroll Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Payroll Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Responsibilities & Duties:
    • Compile payroll data such as hours worked and piecework to calculate gross wages.
    • Process hourly & salary payroll for 60 Full-Time Oregon & Washington employees.
    • Processing of high-volume weekly payroll during seasonal harvest season (June-October) payroll for over 600 employees hourly, piece-rate and salary.
    • Record accurate timely changes affecting net wages such as taxes, exemptions, 401K, insurance coverage, deductions for each employee.
    • Maintain accuracy in the payroll system and employee files for all deductions.
    • Record data concerning transfer of employees between departments.
    • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly annual reports and reconciliations of earnings, taxes, and deductions.
    • Create payroll data reports for Leadership and Accounting teams.
    • Reconcile all payroll reports weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually.
    • Assures and promotes effective communication between departments and key personnel with timely collaboration with Leadership Team members.
    • Works directly with Director of Operations, HR and Leadership Team members to ensure implementation of all regulatory compliance.

    Qualifications:
    • Collaboration and Communication is Key to excel at PBG.
    • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
    • Able to maintain confidential information.
    • 2 years of payroll processing experience with an agricultural background preferred.
    • Must be able to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
    • Bilingual/Conversational Spanish is highly desired.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
    • Experience with Paychex payroll processing a plus!
