Payroll Manager is responsible for managing payroll processing operations. Establishes policies and processes that ensure accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings, and company deductions. Being a Payroll Manager interfaces between finance and human resource departments to provide accurate and useful information. Develops and produces payroll-related statistical reports. Additionally, Payroll Manager ensures accurate and on-time governmental reporting and compliance. Oversees the activities and training of both professionals and support staff. Directs the resolution of complex issues or errors. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Payroll Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Job Summary
We’re looking for a Payroll Manager to join the Tank team! Working closely with Finance and HR, you’ll be leading a small but mighty payroll team of three, delivering paychecks and great experiences to over 3,500 employees across 50 sites in 30 states while ensuring compliance with employment and tax laws.

Key Responsibilities
· Ensure the consistent and accurate payment of standing payrolls and special checks requests for Tank employees
· Fully leverage the ADP Workforce Now system
· Train and develop the existing payroll team, including cross-training and documentation of work instructions and driving best practices.
· Build metrics for the department and be a driver of process improvements in service and quality
· Partner with key vendor/partners
· Drive standardization of practices and increase automation (reducing manual transactions)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Years of experience (required or preferred): 10 years in payroll (required)
· Years of Supervisory experience (required or preferred): 4 years managing a team (required)
· Education (required or preferred): bachelor’s degree required in Accounting or Human Resources (required)
· Certifications (required or preferred): Certified Payroll Professional Certification (required)
· Industry experience (required or preferred): Payroll experience in a holding company (preferred). Required experience in a more complex payroll environment including multiple FEIN’s, pay frequencies, union/non-union, etc. with over 3,000 employees in size. Manufacturing experience preferred. Experience in high growth companies with acquisition activity. (preferred)
