Payroll Manager is responsible for managing payroll processing operations. Establishes policies and processes that ensure accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings, and company deductions. Being a Payroll Manager interfaces between finance and human resource departments to provide accurate and useful information. Develops and produces payroll-related statistical reports. Additionally, Payroll Manager ensures accurate and on-time governmental reporting and compliance. Oversees the activities and training of both professionals and support staff. Directs the resolution of complex issues or errors. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Payroll Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Payroll Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Who We Want:

    The Payroll Manager processes salary team member payroll, submits 401(k) deductions, assists employees with benefits enrollment and questions, approves benefit elections, approves benefit vendor invoices, and completes payroll reporting.

    What You'll Do:

    • Manages the salary team member payroll process, including ensuring time and attendance records are accurate and approved from supervisors, submitting payroll reports, and issuing paychecks.
    • Review and distribute checks including creating manual checks to replace checks lost by employees. Mail checks to absent employees.
    • Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness benefits.
    • Maintain ADP benefits module and ensure benefits changes are reviewed and approved.
    • Assist employees with health, dental, life and other related benefit questions.
    • Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives.
    • Assist HRSS Director in obtaining statistics and information in renewal process of any health, life and retirement plans that benefit the company.
    • Compiles payroll data such as hours worked, insurance and miscellaneous deductions.
    • Administers FOC and garnishment deductions for salary team members.
    • Review and distribute checks including creating manual checks to replace checks lost by employees. Mail checks to absent employees.
    • Monitors uncashed checks and submits annual reports to the State.
    • Respond to questions from managers and employees regarding pay policies.
    • Prepare and post benefit notices.
    • Performs basic customer service functions associated with key job tasks (i.e. answering employee and 3rd party requests for information).
    • Filing and clerical duties including maintenance of electronic records.

    When and Where:

    This will be 8:30- 5 PM position located at our Corporate Office in Walker, MI.

    What You Need to Have:

    • High School Diploma or GED (required)
    • 4 years' experience in payroll and benefits administration or related field (required)
    • ADP Certified Payroll Specialist preferred
