Payroll Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and coordination of payroll processing operations. Ensures accurate calculation of wages and processing of tax withholding and company deductions. Being a Payroll Supervisor prepares statistical reports on employee pay, commissions and bonuses; vacation, sick, disability and workers compensation leave; taxes, withholding, etc. Oversees the distribution of paychecks and direct deposit programs. Provides training to team on policies, regulations, and processes. Additionally, Payroll Supervisor assists team members with resolving errors or responding to inquiries. May be the first level escalation for complaints or complex error resolution. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Payroll Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Payroll Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.     Description

    St Andrew Parish in Sumner, WA is currently seeking a full-time Pastoral Assistant for Administration. This person will be responsible for the finance, personnel, and facilities functions of the parish. The successful candidate is an active member of a Catholic parish with experience in finance and administration.

     

     

     

    Major Responsibilities:

     

    A. Reviews/approves financial transactions and payroll.

    • Collaborate with Pastor and Finance Council to develop operating budget for the parish.
    • Ensure ongoing accurate implementation Employee Benefits.
    • Prepare monthly financial report for the Pastor and Finance Council.
    • Serve as staff reporter to Finance Council.
    • Manage the financial software systems of the parish.
    • Ensure accurate and confidential record-keeping systems

     

    B. Coordinates the Human Resources functions of the parish, including recruiting, training, and communication.

    • Implements Archdiocesan Human Resources policies; develops Parish specific job descriptions and manages Open Enrollment. 

    • Manages payment of salaries and benefits. 

     

    C. Organizes annual fundraising campaigns.

    • Facilitate implementation of stewardship campaigns.
    • Provide weekly stewardship revenue reporting.

     

    D. Coordinates construction and maintenance of buildings and grounds.

    • Manage parish facilities and grounds, which include construction and maintenance for parish properties and school.
    • Ensure all seasonal maintenance and landscaping is conducted.
    • Oversee the organization and maintenance of all church inventory. Establish and maintain an inventory system for all property.

     

     

    Qualifications


    Qualifications: 

     

    • A degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • A commitment to ongoing professional development and formation
    • Ability to inspire and work with volunteers and staff
    • Excellent computer skills, with proficiency in QuickBooks online
    • Working knowledge of (or ability to learn) ParishStaq database and other relevant website tools

     

    Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications.
