Physical Therapist - Nursing Home jobs in Mobile, AL

Physical Therapist - Nursing Home evaluates and treats patients suffering from a physical disability due to injury, disease, or surgery in a nursing home environment. Establishes treatment plans and treats patients using a variety of methods, including exercises, stretching maneuvers, hands-on therapy, and equipment to ease patients' pain and help them increase their mobility. Being a Physical Therapist - Nursing Home works cooperatively with physicians, case managers, and adjustors. Monitors, documents, and reports patients' progress. Additionally, Physical Therapist - Nursing Home may supervise physical therapy assistants, aides, and athletic trainers. Requires an advanced degree of Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT). Typically reports to a manager. Requires a state license to practice physical therapy. Physical Therapist - Nursing Home's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     Key Responsibilities:

    • Assess patients' functional mobility and develop individualized plans of care.
    • Implement therapy interventions to promote patients' mobility, reduce pain, and prevent disabilities.
    • Monitor and document patients' progress, adjusting care plans as necessary.
    • Utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques and equipment to facilitate rehabilitation.
    • Educate patients and their families on ongoing therapy exercises and strategies for home care.
    • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient treatment.
    • Maintain clinical documentation in compliance with facility policies and regulatory guidelines.

    Qualifications:

    • A Doctorate or Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
    • Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist.
    • Clinical experience in physical therapy, including internships or residencies.
    • Strong understanding of evidence-based practices in physical therapy.
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate and educate patients and staff.
