Police Lieutenant jobs in Michigan

Primary Duties:

• Perform all supervisory duties in a prompt and professional manner consistent with Post Orders, Job Descriptions, Special Orders, Physical Security Plan, and any verbal instructions from local or upper management
• Supervise all security functions and activities of Security Officers to ensure the proper implementation and execution of normal operations
• Conduct post and patrol inspections to monitor effectiveness of performance levels
• Ensure that all assigned personnel have the proper attire and equipment necessary to perform their duty
• Maintain attention to detail required while setting priorities and following up on assignments
• Use initiative and independent judgement within established guidelines
• Prepare and/or oversee written reports and logs in neat, legible handwriting and completed daily and accurately
• Ability to work all shifts and overtime if needed (including weekends) and be reassigned for short durations to other shifts, as required
• Train and supervise oncoming officers about proper procedures and work standards
• Evaluate and analyze performance of security personnel
• Initiate/recommend disciplinary measures/actions whenever necessary
• Ensure all security devices and equipment are in good working condition and provide proper notification when otherwise
• Develop preventative measures and procedures involving damage to property, fires, accidents and criminal activity
• Lead by example by modeling adherence to Post Orders, Job Descriptions, Special Orders, Physical Security Plan, and any verbal instructions from local or upper management

• Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this position requires U.S. Citizenship status.
• As required by Federal Contract, be at least 21 years of age.
• Speak, read, write, and comprehend English.
• Must pass Background Investigation.
• Must have High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Must Possess a valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass pre-employment and annual Physical Fitness Readiness Test.
• Speak, read, write, and comprehend English.
• Ability to pass pre-employment and annual Physical and Drug Screen.
• Must be available to work all shifts, holidays and weekends.
• Must be available to work overtime.
• Must have valid Michigan CPL permit
