The City of Pleasant Hill Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Support Services Lieutenant.
The next Lieutenant will need to embody the role of servant leader while bringing a wealth of collaborative experience to the table. The individual should instill confidence and trust within the community and the division. They must command respect from both commissioned and non-commissioned team members. The top-tier candidate will be naturally inclined towards teamwork, be a self starter and possess a high level of trust, respect, and integrity.
The Lieutenant is a commissioned, law enforcement position, and has the overall responsibility for the Records Division, Communications Division, Facilities and Fleet, Custody/Jail, Evidence, and Information Technology. Additionally, the Lieutenant must be capable of performing the role of a police officer.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from high school or equivalent
Class A Missouri POST License
Five years police experience
Two years of experience in a supervisory rank
- Considerable knowledge of the police principles, practices, methods, techniques, and equipment
- Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of leadership, training, and supervision
- Good knowledge of relevant, laws, municipal ordinances, rules, and regulations
- Knowledge in specialized areas, including geography of the city, Firearms, first aid, CPR, AED
- Knowledge of Incident Command and Basic principles of Emergency Management
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, agencies, and the public.
- Ability to analyze difficult situations, problems, data, and to use sound judgment in decision making.
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and to prepare clear and comprehensive reports.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field from an accredited college or university.
- Knowledge of or experience with E911/Radio Communications
- Knowledge of or experience with custody/jail procedures
- Knowledge of or experience in Fleet Management.
- Knowledge of or experience with Information Technology
FLSA: Exempt
Pay Classification/Range: PO27/$63,440-$91,353 DOQ
Reports to: Captain
