A company in Milton is seeking a full-time Dispatcher/Records Clerk to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to join a supportive and positive work environment and start a career with this company.
What you’ll be doing to make an impact:
- Operates radio system to dispatch and communicate with patrol units.
- Receives incoming calls on telephone lines and channels calls to proper departments.
- Sends out and receives messages on computer or teletype.
- Operates FCIC/NCIC computer, communicating statewide and nationwide.
- Maintains and releases motor vehicle registration information to law enforcement agencies.
- Receives all complaints; assigns complaint numbers; dispatches patrol units; dispatches other emergency vehicles; notifies news media of serious accidents or disasters.
- Performs clerical work such as filing, typing, and compiling reports.
- Prepares and mails Florida citation abstracts to the State.
- Prepares department payroll; maintains other specialized records and reports
- Scanning incoming mail.
What you’ll bring to the table:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Public safety dispatching experience preferred
- Typing proficiency of thirty (30) correct words per minute
- Possession of or ability to obtain FCIC Certification from State of Florida within six (6) months of employment
- Knowledge of geography of the area
- Knowledge of department rules, regulations, and procedures
- Knowledge of operation requirements for public safety radio dispatching
- Ability to evaluate situations and make decisions quickly in accordance with procedures, regulations, and established policies
- Ability to establish and maintain simple and complex record keeping systems
- Ability to prepare complex reports or tabulations from records
- Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the public and city officials
