Requires a bachelor's degree of engineering. Additionally, Process Engineering Director typically reports to top management. The Process Engineering Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Process Engineering Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     Aquatech ICD Process Technologies is a global leader in evaporation and crystallization technology.  Our group develops efficient systems for the production of sustainable products.  We develop solutions for industries such as biofuels, energy, metals and mining, oil and gas, chemicals, pulp and paper, consumer and personal care products and we are active in North America as well as countries around the globe. 

    As a growth-oriented company with aggressive plans to further expand in both size and market diversification, Aquatech ICD Process Technologies is expanding its Thermal Process Engineering Department.  We have an immediate need for a Chemical Engineering Intern to work in our Hartland, Wisconsin campus. The Chemical Engineering Intern will report to the Process Engineering Manager and will perform the duties described in the job description below and will be considered a non-exempt employee.

    The ideal candidate will have a safety focus with safe working habits, good communication skills, organization, ability to interpret instructions, and attention to detail. The candidate will have prior knowledge and experience of Process Engineering work.  The Chemical Engineering Intern will participate in the development and design review of evaporators and crystallizer systems.  The Intern will work closely with engineering to understand the process and the output objectives. 

    Qualifications / Experience:

    • Pursuing a BS degree in Chemical Engineering or related field OR

    Mechanical aptitude/technical background desired

     

    Job Description:

    • Reviewing and editing Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (PIDs) for evaporative systems
    • Reviewing and preparing Data Sheets for equipment such as pumps, heaters, centrifuges, vapor compressors, instruments
    • Reviewing vendor submittals of documents
    • Assist in preparing Thermal and hydraulic calculations needed in designing the systems
    • Reviewing engineering inputs coming from other departments
    • Preparing operating procedures for the systems

    • Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.
    • Maintain a positive attitude.
    • Possess good organizational skills.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. 
    • Ability to be hands-on and to carry out tasks with minimal monitoring.
    • Detail-oriented, Communicates and receives data and procedures.
    • Ability to understand and follow detailed design instructions.
    • Demonstrate initiative and willingness to learn and grow in responsibility on the job.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
    • Ability to work independently, with a minimum of supervision.
    • Attention to detail.

    Physical Job Demands:

    Lifting/carrying/moving 50 lbs, may need to climb ladders cannot be afraid of heights, and will need to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while in the laboratory. Needs a high degree of concentration in a busy area.
