Handles produce items in a safe manner and ensures that the department is always clean and neat. Additionally, Produce Clerk may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Produce Clerk may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload produce deliveries
- Stock and rotate produce items on shelves and displays
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the produce department
- Package and label produce items for sale
- Assist customers in selecting high-quality produce items
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions and addressing concerns
- Operate a pallet jack to move pallets of produce as needed
- Follow proper food safety and sanitation guidelines
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or stockroom setting preferred
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, and reaching
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude
- Excellent customer service skills
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- must be 18 or older
