    Department Summary
The Learning Sciences (LS) program is located in the Department of Educational Psychology in the College of Education. The Department consists of several programs, including LS; Human Development and Family Sciences; Gifted and Talented Education; Research, Measurement, and Statistics; and Special Education.

The LS program is both similar and unique from the broader field. Like the broader field, we are dedicated to understanding how sociocultural systems impact learning and designing innovative and transformative opportunities for learning through collaborative partnerships. The LS concentration at UNT supports full-time students and also allows students to take courses exclusively in the evenings so that they can continue to work in districts, museums, and other settings where they can implement their developing expertise in consequential ways. Graduates of the Learning Sciences concentration are prepared to contribute to the community-based design of learning opportunities including in settings like schools, museums, and community centers.

UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. We welcome candidates who have experience with HSI/MSIs and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba.
