Professor - Legal Support teaches courses in the discipline area of legal services. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being a Professor - Legal Support provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Professor - Legal Support typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and initiates research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Provides intellectual leadership and has made significant contributions to the field. May offer independent study opportunities and mentoring to students.     Street Legal has a need for multiple onsite Cost Estimators to support the Resident Office at Tyndall AFB near Panama City, Florida. This position will include preparation of detailed cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications and performing quantity take-offs for the assigned project. The selected candidate will need to have a strong understanding of contractual terms and conditions. Develop and prepare conceptual estimates using design documents and information using onscreen take-offs and estimating.


    Job Description

    Responsible for activities related to estimating all elements of project cost including labor (manual and non-manual), materials and permanent equipment, supplies, consumables and expenses, construction equipment rental and operating costs, contingency, escalation, program risk, etc. cost breakdown estimating and negotiating, and technical writing. 


    Requirements

     Preferred Requirements

    • BS in civil or Construction Engineering, or equivalent work experience
    • 5 years in Heavy Civil  Construction Estimating
    • Previous USAC Experience
    • Strong math and analytical  skills
    • Knowledge of estimating  software
    • Ability to prepare detailed  budgets
    • Ability to prepare detailed  materials lists and costs
    • Ability to read, interpret and  navigate plans and specification
    • Knowledgeable of the Company  estimating systems and processes.
    • Understands estimating  terminology and measures and recognizes estimating processes/project actions that may impact the project.  
    • Understands construction means,  methods, and sequences-multiple disciplines.
    • Develops Work Breakdown  Structures.
    • Capable of managing the preparation of an estimate.
    • Evaluates suitability of scope and execution plan for basis of estimate. 
    • Initiates the preparation of an Estimate Plan (approach, techniques, level of effort, cost, schedule),      Basis of Estimate and qualifications.
    • Prepares bid tabulations  responding to the customer/Request for Proposal requirements.
    • Collects, analyzes and archives  project data.  Develops historical documentation.
    • Develops current project  estimate comparisons with previous performance and market benchmark data.
    • Knowledge of Primavera Project   and Microsoft Project schedules and be proficient in Microsoft Word,      Excel, and Project.
