Provider Programs Manager oversees the provider network administration function of an organization. Collects data, analyzes and reports on claims, utilization, costs and changes. Being a Provider Programs Manager reviews existing and future reimbursement policies, regulations and guidelines. Ensure competitiveness of provider network by the deployment of cost effective programs and systems that deliver results that meet cost control and quality goals of the organization.     To strategically increase market share through direct communication and relationship development with access point referral sources in the primary, secondary, and tertiary markets. Manages the relationship with targeted referral sources by way of consistent communication to identify needs and promote services. The Manager, Provider Relations is the owner of issue resolution and follow-up. Extrapolates and utilizes data to direct efforts and support the organizational strategic initiatives.

    Responsible for identifying growth opportunities among access points/referral sources. Develops and maintains relations with providers in the service region and acts as a liaison between providers and the System. Utilizes PRM tool to track activities and identify and escalate opportunities/issues. Ongoing analysis of referral trends, strategy implementation, and measurement of outcomes from provider outreach will be instrumental in addressing the ongoing needs of the provider community and service line development initiatives. Through the partnerships developed, serves as a resource for the provider community for information, problem resolution, and general communication and education about the System and appropriate service lines. Assures providers’ and offices’ basic needs are understood and will work with appropriate service line leaders to gain satisfaction/resolution. Aligns provider relations strategies with marketing campaign strategies to effectively impact referrals. Supports the onboarding of providers hired to the System, as well as those that join the medical staff and provider community in the region.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS

    Education: Bachelors or Master’s and/or 5 years of experience in business, management, marketing, communications, or similar field is required.

    Licensure: N/A

    Experience: Experience in the healthcare industry is helpful, though not required. MHA or MBA in Marketing or Business Administration Preferred.

    Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of departments, physicians, and individual personalities at all levels both within and outside organization. Ability to function independently and effectively in a dynamic environment, develop timelines and meet deadlines. Creative, self-motivated, and the ability to plan and initiate new activities. This position requires the individual to have the ability to respond appropriately in highly public environments. Position requires travel will be predominately focused in the traditional region, though may include travel to other entities in support of the system. Conceptual, analytical, negotiation, process improvement and problem solving skills are necessary. Exceptional communications skills, both oral and written are required. Effective presentation skills required. Ability to effectively form and function in a "matrixed organization" is required. This position must gain cooperation and support through effective use of influence and persuasion. Must demonstrate a strong customer service focus in all decisions and actions. Must be detail oriented, self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision. An ability to deal with complex situations and to facilitate standardization and integration across multiple entities is crucial.

    Works in a typical office environment. Ability to meet deadlines and budgets is critical. Self-supervision will be expected. Work outside the office is required. Requires hearing and vision corrected to normal range. Requires working under sometimes stressful conditions and subject to working irregular hours including overtime and weekends.
