Purchasing Director manages procurement and purchasing operations and implements the strategy to provide the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing. Maintains strategic supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, and implements systems for monitoring performance, assessing risk, and responding to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain. Being a Purchasing Director collaborates with other functions to define current and future inventory requirements and manage inventory levels. Implements processes and systems and utilizes technical tools to analyze data and increase responsiveness to material demands. Additionally, Purchasing Director oversees auditing processes to ensure procurement and recordkeeping comply with any applicable industry or governmental regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Purchasing Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Purchasing Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Working under the supervision of Controller, the Purchasing Coordinator’s mission is to procure resources that allow for servicing residents while being fiscally responsible.

    Job responsibilities include:

    • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to maintain accurate and timely purchase orders.
    • Monitor stock levels and reorder supplies to ensure proper levels of stock
    • Manages and negotiates terms of contracts, price, and delivery process.
    • Provides support with research, escalated customer service problems, vendor concerns, or order discrepancies.
    • Oversees coordination and tracking of purchased equipment.
    • Manage end-to-end process for developing and negotiating new contracts and delivery of products.
    • Collect, complete, and electronically file all necessary paperwork to approve new vendors inclusive of W-9, COI, and fully executed contract.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Associates degree in business or two years of purchasing experience
    • Exceptional organizational and project management skills
    • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations and use good judgement in responding to issues and concerns.
