Purchasing Manager manages procurement and purchasing operations and implements the strategy to provide the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing. Maintains strategic supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, and implements systems for monitoring performance, assessing risk, and responding to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain. Being a Purchasing Manager collaborates with other functions to define current and future inventory requirements and manage inventory levels. Implements processes and systems and utilizes technical tools to analyze data and increase responsiveness to material demands. Additionally, Purchasing Manager oversees auditing processes to ensure procurement and recordkeeping comply with any applicable industry or governmental regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Purchasing Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Purchasing Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Responsibilities:

    • The Purchasing, Shipping Logistics and Spare Parts Manager provides the company sound purchasing and cost management analysis and reporting. In support of these purchasing functions, the Manager will assist with inbound and outbound shipping logistic support for raw materials and finished products. The
    • Manager will also prepare spare parts quotes and will accept approved purchase orders from the company’s current clients.
    • Work closely with project management and engineering personnel to obtain all details related to purchasing requirements.
    • Negotiate, establish and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure competitiveness.
    • Purchase orders will go out with reference to specifications, schedule and detailing standards.
    • Provide raw material and buyout costs and estimates to project management and sales personnel.
    • Manage purchasing and job cost information.

    Requirements:

    • 5 years of purchasing experience, preferably in the fabrication and manufacturing industry.
    • 1-3 years of experience in accounting/finance related functions preferred
    • Associates degree in accounting, finance or business preferred, but not required.
    • Computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and Access.
    • Sage Accounting platform experience a plus.
    • Mechanical aptitude and experience a plus.
    • Familiarity with AutoCAD and blueprint reading preferred

    Pay: $30hr- $40hr (DOE)

    Schedule: Can work 4x10's or 5x8's - Work schedule is flexible (7am start time preferred)

    Duration: Long Term
