Job Title: Construction (QA) Inspector

Work Location: Moose Creek – Fairbanks, Alaska

Salary: Based on experience and will be discussed with manager in interview

REQUIREMENT- Must be a US Citizen and must pass a Federal Background Review and drug screenTravel and Housing Allowance will be provided Responsibilities/Duties

• Must have knowledge of civil works and building construction since detailed inspections must be made to ensure the required level of workmanship adhering to the contract, project plans and specifications
• Perform and support three-phase inspection system
• Provide daily QA reports to document all activities observed for each on-site day in sufficient detail
• Review and analysis of construction contractor progress
• Ensure safety requirements are met including EM 385-1-1 and OSHA requirements
• Monitor submittals utilizing a submittal status log.
• Review of design, comment logging and back-checking; verify accurate as-built drawings
• Review and comment on the accuracy of the construction contractor’s requests for payment
• Review and acknowledge daily reports including verification of the project schedule by indicating the activities worked on that day and the activities behind schedule
• Maintain an Inspectors Site Inspection Report
• Assist in response for Requests for Information (RFI), modifications and change orders
• Participate in pre-final and final inspections, assist in preparations of detailed punch-lists and check that all punch list items are corrected prior to final payment.

Experience/Education

• High School diploma is required or GED with at least 7 years of construction inspection experience performing quality assurance verification on construction contract, civil works/dam experience preferred
• Or, Associate Degree (two-year degree) / Technical Training Degree (two years of training) with at least 5 years of construction inspection experience performing quality assurance verification on construction contract, civil works/dam experience preferred
• Or Bachelor of Science Degree and at least 3 years of construction inspection experience performing quality assurance verification on construction contract, civil works/dam experience preferred
• Experience in Resident Management System (RMS), preferred
• Experience enforcing EM 385-1-1, OSHA rules and regulations and all applicable safety requirements
• Demonstrates experience with performing the following duties: quality assurance inspections; submittal review, quality verification, validating contractor pay request and preparing daily reports
• Experience with Federal Construction projects, particularly US Army Corps of Engineers
• Interaction with clients and contractors requires candidate to have a professional presentation along with excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
