QC Inspector jobs in Delaware

General Summary:   To be responsible for the quality function as required by the QC Manager.

 Essential job functions:

 Responsible for inspection of all work in progress and finished products

• Responsible for company adherence to the Quality Control Manual 
• Inspect equipment, structures or material
• Accurately document and record information 
• Assist Manufacturing to improve work practices 
• Discard or reject products, materials or equipment not meeting specifications
• Responsible for the quality of all products shipped
• Mark items with details, such as grade or acceptance/ rejection status
• Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges or micrometers
• Notify supervisors or other personnel of production problems
• Inspect, test, or measure materials, products, installations or work for conformance to specifications
• Write test or inspection reports describing results, recommendations or needed repairs
• Perform basic mathematical calculations (multiplication, division, percentages, conversion of fractions to decimals, etc.)
• To perform any reasonable task or assignment as specified by management, including varied shift/overtime/ and travel as necessary. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

• Knowledge of the ASME/National Board/State of Delaware Codes
• Knowledge of specific customer requirements
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical specifications
• Good communication skills-verbally and written.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time-minimum 4 hours.
• Ability to perform math calculations.
• Capable of wearing ANSI approved safety shoes, safety glasses, and other approved personal protective equipment.
• Able to inspect work in progress as well as visit customer sites (work in confined spaces (Ex. Vessel entry)
• Read and understand tools required to ensure the quality of the product (micrometers, tape measure, gauges) 

Education, experiences and licenses: 

• High school diploma or equivalent acceptable experience.
