Construction Inspection Technician
Rogers Water Utilities is seeking a candidate for Construction Inspection Technician. The successful candidate will be working with our team in providing the best service to our customers. The position is responsible for the oversight and coordination of inspection of construction activities of Utility projects and general oversight of developer projects, as well as assisting with testing procedures, inspection of materials and workmanship to ensure conformance with plans and specifications.
Responsibilities:
· Maintains detailed records of correspondence, plans, & inspection reports.
· Ability to interpret plans for conformance with utility policies and specifications.
· Observes materials, means, and methods of utility construction throughout the project.
· Ensuring engineering design of utility systems is accurately executed in the field.
· Coordinates with engineers, developers and contractors throughout the construction process.
· Hosts and actively participates in utility coordination meetings with engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
· Observes acceptance testing.
· Operates surveying equipment including GPS equipment, levels, etc.
· Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.
· Provides field support for engineering and operations staff.
· Maintenance of provided equipment as necessary.
Qualifications:
· Knowledge of a specialized field (however acquired), such as basic construction technology, engineering technology, etc. Equivalent of four years in high school, plus specialized training.
· 5 years related experience and/or training
· Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization.
· Ability to read, analyze, and understand plans, specifications, and technical reports.
· Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
· Ability to work mathematical concepts such as basic geometry and algebra.
· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of known and unknown variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
· Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.
· Maintain a valid Arkansas Driver’s License.
· Must be available to work regular schedule from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm – Monday thru Friday. Some weekend work as assigned.
· Must be able to represent RWU in a professional manner.
· Steady and Consistent Work History.
· Ability to multi-task and switch priorities based on the needs of RWU.
· Ability to obtain Class IV distribution/operator license.
· Ability to obtain Class III wastewater collection license.
