PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Quality Assurance Assistant Manager will be responsible of the QA Technicians scheduling, will be accountable to develop Food Safety and Quality programs that result in compliance with Corporate Policies and Procedures, USDA, FDA GMPs, and customer requirements as related to process and packaging of products produced at Rana’s Bartlett facility and incoming ingredients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Audits and ensures compliance with customer requirements, USDA and FDA regulations, GMPs, HACCP, as well as all Food safety and sanitation policies, procedures and guidelines. Monitors pest control program and assures corrective actions are implemented.
• Participates in investigation and resolution of customer complaints, reject product episodes.
• Has the responsibility of Lab analysis and their evaluation; trend the results of finished product.
• Maintains updated all documentation regarding raw materials suppliers and has the responsibility to prepare specs.
• Maintains contacts with raw materials suppliers for non-conformity and agrees corrective actions.
• Managing of raw materials, finished products and environmental test analysis plan.
• Maintain contact with the external labs.
• In collaboration with QSM, updating of finished product specs.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or any related science
• 5-10 years of experience in quality control of food manufacturing
• HACCP Certified
• Basic principles of microbiology and biochemistry, organic and inorganic chemistry
• Shall be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point systems.
• Multi-task and leadership skills, Team player and organized
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Mathematical aptitude with analytical proficiency, professional communication skills
