    Hourly Compensation Range: $25.00-30.00

    MAJOR FUNCTIONS:

    The Quality Management Specialist is responsible for conducting regularly scheduled in-person recurrent quantitative and qualitative compliance surveys in OASAS and OMH certified facilities to assure that programs operate in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and Odyssey House organizational standards.

    SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Conducts recurrent reviews and reports on compliance with health and safety standards according to a pre-determined set of quality indicators for fire safety, opioid overdose prevention, overnight security, medication administration, medical emergencies, staffing patterns and other indicators of clinical risk in OASAS and OMH programs.
    • Review and report on compliance with standards related to provision of clinical supervision in OASAS and OMH certified programs.
    • Review and report on compliance with standards related to personnel management practices such as staff orientation, and staff supervision in OASAS and OMH certified programs.
    • Conducts recurrent reviews of clinical records and reports on quantitative and qualitative compliance with clinical record keeping in OASAS and OMH certified programs.
    • Review and report on compliance with standards related to client’s rights such as required postings, required notifications to patients, community meeting practices in OASAS and OMH certified programs.
    • Review and report on compliance with standards related to medical care such as storage of medication, providing resident’s access to medication (including eMARS reviews), discontinued medications and controlled substances in OASAS and OMH certified programs.
    • Review and report on compliance with standards related to engagement of new residents such as timely assignment of counselor and delivery of initial counseling session.
    • Attend all required in-service training.
    • Performs other relevant duties as required.

    REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION/TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    1. Masters Degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling with NYS License preferred; or
      1. Bachelor’s Level Human Services Degree and two (2) years of experience working in a healthcare or social service setting required.
    2. Frequent local travel to Odyssey House facilities required.
    3. Previous experience in quality assurance/compliance in a behavioral health setting preferred.
    4. Proficiency with computer operation (Microsoft Word, Excel, Electronic Health Records and Outlook programs).
    5. Must demonstrate excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills.
    6. Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
