QUARRY SUPERINTENDENT

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Quarry Supervisor reports to the Quarry Manager. The Quarry Supervisor directs the day-to-day activities of 10 or more hourly employees including the operators, haul truck drivers, contractors, mechanics, and the stripping crew.

WHAT YOU will BE DOING

• Provide hands on leadership to the hourly workforce and management of all daily operations including subcontractors in the effort of meeting the production goals and to strive for continuous improvement in a safe efficient manner.
• Implement the positive safety culture in the quarry operation including communication, training, and improvements. Implement the long term, short term, and daily mine plan.
• Daily supervision and scheduling of hourly personnel to meet production demands. Key emphasis is the safe operation complying with all MSHA standards.
• Manage all day-to-day quarry operation activities, stripping, dump management, road maintenance, efficient production, the maintenance of the stationary and the mobile equipment, water management, general grounds management.
• Perform routine daily plant and hazard inspections.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Leadership capabilities.
• Other duties as assigned.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience Supervisory experience in a union environment preferred.
