General: The City of Bellevue owns and operates a wastewater treatment facility designed for a maximum daily flow of 3.0 MGD. This facility currently requires a State of Ohio certified Class III Operator. The facility serves a population of approximately 8,200, as well as many commercial and industrial businesses in the City of Bellevue. The aerobic treatment plant utilizes UV disinfection with a belt filter press dewatering biosolids for landfill. The treatment plant has just completed a $3 million upgrade to grit handling processes. The separated sewer system consists of pipes ranging from 8 to 42 inches in diameter with 12 sanitary lift stations. There is one stormwater pump station maintained by the wastewater department as well.
Position Description: This position is responsible for the efficient operation of the wastewater treatment process and collection system, while providing staff leadership to ensure regulatory compliance. Direct the day-to-day activities, supervise operations of the wastewater treatment plant and collection system by planning work, directing personnel, and assigning work to be performed in coordinating and preparing operation and maintenance repairs. Prepare reports as required by Ohio EPA. Supervise required process control laboratory testing; perform related work as required. Communication skills are important as dealing with the public is required.
License Requirements: Must possess and maintain an Ohio Wastewater Operator Class III and be Operator of Record for the facilities.
Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license and remain insurable. CDL preferred.
