The Radiation Therapist, under the medical direction of the Radiation Oncologist and in consultation with the Physicist, insures optimal radiation treatment course through proper planning and implementation of radiation therapy processes, including interpretation, analysis and coordination of optimal radiation therapy for each patient.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
-
Education: Graduate of accredited radiation therapist program.

Experience: N/A
-
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Registered as a Radiation Therapist RT(T), through the American Registry of Radiologic Technology within six (6) months of employment. BLS Certification with a designation of either BLS Provider or Healthcare Provider from either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or Military Training Network.

Knowledge of radiation safety principles, Universal Precautions, generally accepted quality control practices for radiation services. Knowledge of personal computing applications. Knowledge of customer relation principles. Ability to accurately perform radiation therapy processes. Ability to work independently under general administrative, medical and physicist direction. Ability to prioritize tasks without compromising patient care. Ability to demonstrate positive customer relations and present a professional image. Ability to work constructively with other persons. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality. Ability to perform computer functions associated with radiation therapy equipment. Ability to participate in orientation of new personnel and teaching of students. Ability to write legibly, see, read, hear, and speak English.
