Radiation Therapy Technologist (ARRT) II administers radiation therapy by exposing specific areas of the patient's body to prescribed doses of radiation. Maintains patient charts, noting such information as the area treated, the radiation dosage, equipment control settings, the patient's reactions, and the total amount of radiation received to date. Being a Radiation Therapy Technologist (ARRT) II consults with radiation oncologists and other clinical staff as needed. May require a bachelor's degree in a related area. Additionally, Radiation Therapy Technologist (ARRT) II typically requires graduation from an accredited radiation therapy program, certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and a state license to practice. Typically reports to a physician or manager. The Radiation Therapy Technologist (ARRT) II work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Will report to Turkey Creek Medical Center and will float to North Knoxville Medical Center as well as the Irene Baker Cancer Center in Harrogate, TN.
Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing college or university that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. |
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Oncology Nursing. Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred. |
1. Ability to educate and instruct staff on policy and procedure processes of nurse navigation 2. Understands issues of financial, cultural, educational, and social barriers to information and care. 3. Communicates effectively with patients, their families, healthcare providers & staff. 4. Good organizational skills and problem solving skills. 5. Knowledge of community and organizations resources available for the oncology patient/family. 6. Excellent physical/psychosocial assessment skills 7. Able to work independently. 8. Proficient in using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint 9. Gather, organize, and verify data collection regarding nurse navigation effectiveness 10. Basic knowledge of pathophysiology and psychopathology as relates to oncology and other disease processes 11. Able to maintain attention to detail to avoid errors of a technical or judgmental nature 12. Demonstrated general computer proficiency, report generation, form design and document editing abilities 13. Must maintain confidentiality of data and patient information according to HIPPA regulations 14. Excellent verbal and written communication skills 15. Perform routine duties independent of supervision of nurse navigators but consults with the Cancer Service Line Leader. 16. Proficient PC-based computer skills
