Radiation Therapy Technologist (ARRT) jobs in Salem, OR

Radiation Therapy Technologist (ARRT) II administers radiation therapy by exposing specific areas of the patient's body to prescribed doses of radiation. Maintains patient charts, noting such information as the area treated, the radiation dosage, equipment control settings, the patient's reactions, and the total amount of radiation received to date. Being a Radiation Therapy Technologist (ARRT) II consults with radiation oncologists and other clinical staff as needed. May require a bachelor's degree in a related area. Additionally, Radiation Therapy Technologist (ARRT) II typically requires graduation from an accredited radiation therapy program, certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and a state license to practice. Typically reports to a physician or manager. The Radiation Therapy Technologist (ARRT) II work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Your Role With Us:Simulate and administer radiation treatments to patients as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist and as directed by the Radiation Physicist and Dosimetrist.Interpret the prescription and treatment plan; Complete Patient Identification processes per department procedure.Maintain audio and visual surveillance of the patient during treatment; Consistently and accurately position the patient for treatment; Image patient as directed by the Radiation Oncologist. SBRT, SRS, and Breathhold Visual Management.Aria 11.0 and basic Microsoft Word knowledge.Above average communication and human relation skills; ability to relate well with others. Must demonstrate ability to empathize with patients dealing with death and dying issues. Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to collaborate. Must demonstrate ability to interact well with all levels in the organization including leadership, medical staff, and front line staff.
