Program Coordinator, Parks and Recreation Department
The Town of Littleton New Hampshire is currently in search for a Program Coordinator for the Department of Parks and Recreation. This opportunity is a full-time, non-exempt union position that offers a complete benefits package including town paid life and disability insurance. This position reports to the Director of Parks and Recreation.
Job Function
· Provides on and off sight coordination through leading and organizing the Parks and Recreations after school program, school vacation camps and summer camps related to ages K through 6th grade.
· Communicates with the Director of Parks and Recreation on a daily basis to address any operational or programing issues that may come, including safety and overall supervision of the participants and their activities within the specified environment provided.
· Communicates effectively and respectfully with parents and the community.
· Conducts all administrative functions timely including hiring, trainings, reviews and discipline.
· Opens and closes the park buildings and recreational areas including preparing them for daily usage for the scheduled planned activity.

Qualification/ Skills
· Bachelor's or Associate degree preferred but not required in Child Development, Sports Management, Physical Education or another compatible field with 2 years or more experience in recreation programs and operations.
· Certified in First Aid and CPR from an accredited source.
· Knowledgeable of the principles and practices of children’s recreational programing including games, activities, coaching techniques, general maintenance, rules and regulations in sports and the safety requirements for the activities, facilities and grounds.
· Knowledge of relevant laws and town/ department policies and procedures.
· Effective Leadership and communication skills.
· Effective working relationships with staff, town manager, commissioners, department director and the public.
· Budgeting with the department director, schedules, time sheets, planning workload and community outreach for support, ideas and participation (volunteers).
