General Description: This is an administrative position. The incumbent performs complex tasks and fieldwork to develop, market, implement, and evaluate recreational programs in any of the following disciplines of community recreation: special events, therapeutic recreation, youth programs, adult programs, and senior adult programs.
Organization: The Recreation Coordinator reports to the Recreation Program Director and may supervise several staff.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge and experience in staff supervision and evaluation required. Must be able to plan, implement and evaluate programs and events in related discipline. Ability to organize and prioritize work, work independently, program solve, develop and maintain working relationship with staff and the public, required. Effective written and oral communication skills, required. Computer literacy, required.
Education, Experience and Training: High school diploma or equivalent required (bachelor's degree preferred) with at least two (2) years' related experience, including supervisory experience – OR – Any equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training sufficient to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and abilities is acceptable.
