Job Overview:
We are seeking mechanically skilled applicants to join our team as apprentice cnc lathe and milling machinists. The ideal candidates will have some experience working with power tools and possess some knowledge of mechanical processes, particularly those involving the machining of very hard metals and tight tolerance work. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic century old Company that manufactres parts for the United States Department of Defense amongst other industrial giants.

Duties: On the job training to learn how to:

- Operate and set up machines such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders
- Read and interpret blueprints to determine machining operations
- Use precision measuring instruments like calipers, bore gauges, and micrometers
- Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure adherence to specifications
- Maintain equipment by cleaning and performing routine maintenance

Skills:
- Proficiency in using power tools for machining operations
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot machine issues
- Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings and blueprints
- Experience with SolidWorks for design purposes is a plus
- Knowledge of electrical discharge machining techniques
- Familiarity with operating a forklift for material handling

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
