This is an in-office position based at our Superior, Wisconsin terminal.
Driver Recruiter will recruit and hire qualified CDL drivers and entry level drivers for Halvor Lines, Inc., and support the recruiting efforts of Halvor Lines, Inc.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities of Recruiter:
· Provide information and answer questions for prospective drivers. (In person, phone, and internet)
· Receive & review driver applications. Make determination if the applicant qualifies for Halvor driver or trainee by completing the following:
· Review all consumer reports to determine if the applicant meets the hiring guidelines.
· Send Adverse Action letter to those who do not meet guidelines based on consumer reports within 5 days and file in the appropriate location.
· Ensure all information for candidate is accurate on all initial documentation per DOT guidelines and Halvor policy
· Make outbound phone calls to build pipeline of potential candidates.
· Set up and conduct interview
· Coordinate pre-employment drug tests
· Schedule orientation-make hotel or travel arrangements, notify appropriate staff
· Provide presentations to truck driving schools and job fairs.
· Listen to driver concerns and relay those concerns to management personnel.
· Ability to achieve goals set forth by management.
· Attends work consistently and punctually. Requests time off per policy.
· Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education &/or Experience:
· High School diploma or equivalent (GED), Bachelor’s degree preferred.
· Minimum of 3 years related experience (recruiting/compliance/etc.)
· Prior transportation experience a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:
· Knowledge of the hiring requirements set forth by the Federal DOT and Halvor Lines’ standards, the ability to shift from one duty to another as needed, and organizational skills are a must.
· Strong knowledge and understanding of FMCSA Regulations and other transportation principles and operations.
· Effective communication skills to disseminate information in a clear, concise, actionable manner.
· Must be proficient with computers and relevant software applications.
· May require travel up to 25% of the time.
