EL Program Manager
Non-union, at-will position

POSITION SUMMARY

The EL Program Manager will provide instructional leadership, professional development and coaching, and will work directly with students to provide support to English Learners (ELs) in St. Clair County. The position will encompass providing support to Woodland Development Center (1 day per week) and the seven local districts within St. Clair County.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s Degree in ESL or Bilingual Education
• K-12 ESL Endorsement
• K-12 Spanish Endorsement
• Demonstrated expertise with SIOP (Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol)
• Three to Five years teaching and/or administrative experience
• Ability to work with a team, focus on continuous learning and improvement
• Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in ESL instruction
• Demonstrated ability to develop and meet timelines for completion of projects
• Demonstrated skill in managing multiple projects
• Demonstrated fluency with technology used to support the development and delivery of professional learning content, including but not limited to: Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Adobe Connect, Google Apps
• Demonstrated willingness to engage in continued professional learning to enhance individual skills set related to position
• Ability to assess one’s own strengths and limitations or challenges and integrate this understanding into interpersonal interactions
• Demonstrated knowledge of WIDA administration and Title III grant requirements

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Fluent in Spanish
• Demonstrated expertise in providing professional development
• Mindset toward critical review of evidence-based practices and ability to communicate effectively results of such review
• Knowledge of cooperative learning engagement strategies

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide professional development to teachers and administrators related to EL’s support (including SIOP Strategies)
• Provide professional development to teachers and administrators related to Title III requirements
• Provide instructional support to EL’s
• Other duties as assigned

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Employment Date:              ASAP Pending School Board approval and satisfactory completion of the

pre-employment drug screen and background checks, Posting open until filled

Employment Type:              Non-union, at-will position

                                               August-June, 5 days per week (7.5 hours per day)

Compensation:                    $78,000- $88,000 annual salary, commensurate with experience
