Field Safety Specialists provide safety leadership to ensure compliance with client specific and industry safety standards, implement safety directives, assist with training program, improve safety performance, and ensure safety policies and procedures are aligned with governmental regulations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Perform safety audits as well as inspections to identify/correct potential hazards and ensure safety regulation compliance. Includes company equipment, vehicles, jobsites, and safety equipment.
· Provide a detailed written description of all jobsite visits.
· Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance, and mentoring to employees on safety initiatives and necessary corrective actions.
· Assist in job site accident, incident, near-miss, and occupational injury investigations to determine probable root causes and make recommendations for corrective action.
· Assist in employee safety programs to determine adequacy including input on short and long-term strategic safety planning and development.
· Identify best practices and assist in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce process errors, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices.
· Assist supervisors with the proper completion of inspection forms and other safety related documentation.
· Cultivate a work environment that supports our safety culture.
· Daily employee interface.
· Possess a current driver’s license and a clean driving record.
· Travel required.
Skills and Experience:
· High school diploma or GED
· Bi-lingual (English and Spanish)
· Three (3) years of experience in the oil and gas industry
· Complete OSHA 10 General Construction
· Possess and demonstrate a working knowledge of incident investigation and reporting
· Promote a coaching based safety behavior
· Encourage collaborative solution resolution
· Prioritizes workload independently based on department priorities and goals
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
