    Major Duties and Responsibilities 

    • Return incoming bill calls and collect patient payments over the phone
    • Appeal denials and submit medical records upon request to various insurance companies
    • Follow-up on aged Accounts Receivable insurance list
    • Handle patient bill issues/concerns/questions while patients are in the office
    • Mails primary and secondary claims daily

    Requirements

    Experience and Education 

    • Highschool Diploma or Equivalent 
    • 1-3 years of Insurance Reimbursement Experience

    Skills and Abilities 

    •  Ability to effectively multi-task & prioritize.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology.
    • Exceptional customer service skills and patient-interaction skills.
    • Knowledge of cancer care agents, pharmacology of cytotoxic and immunologic agents a plus.
    • Accuracy – Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
    • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
    • Proficient ability to use a computer and electronic medical record.
    • Maintain patient, team member and employer confidentiality. Comply with all HIPAA regulations.
    • Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.
    • Ability to adapt easily to changing conditions and work responsibilities.
    • Work as part of a team and collaborate with co-workers.
