What does a Resident Care Manager do?

Resident Care Manager
Assist the Director of Nursing Services in directing the day-to- day functions of the nursing activities in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.

Documents all pertinent information in the interdisciplinary notes and on the 24-hour DNS report form timely and accurately.

Review nurses notes to ensure that they are informative and descriptive of the nursing care being provided, that they reflect the residents response to the care, and that such care is provided in accordance with the residents wishes.

Provide oversight of the medication management systems and ensure that Medications Aides are competently trained and that medications are available, dispensed in a safe and effective manner, that the Medication Administration Records (MARs) are accurate and complete and that all medications are current, properly stored and properly disposed of when discontinued.
